WANDERING WITH THE WRIGHTS
June 16, 2018

We started our last blog five weeks ago wishing all the mom's on our blog a Happy Mother's Day so today we will start wishing all the dad's a Very Happy and Relaxing Father's Day tomorrow.

Hard to believe we have been back in IL for five weeks.  We have been busy but have been enjoying seeing all of our friends and loved ones SO much.

We have spent a lot of time with my mom, God love her she will be 95 in August, and is doing so well.  We have enjoyed being home with our church family and we are doing a Monday night seven week bible study.

Our youngest grandson Vincent - his mom owns an exotic bird store and he is so gentle with them
During one visit he came over all on his own and laid his head on my shoulder - be still my heart

My son Stephen and his beautiful fiancee Juliette

For several weekends all we did was attend graduations or graduation parties - it was all so fun.
Our beautiful god-daughter Anna Main.
Graduated from high school and will be attending the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse in the fall
Our oldest grandson, Calvin, in one of his graduation gifts!
He graduated 8th grade and will be going to Warren High School

Our godson, Garrett Zenner, being commissioned into the US Army.
That is his cousin who gave him his first salute as an officer.

Garrett and my mom

Garrett with his sister Kayla and his Mom and Dad.
Lauri is my first cousin and my god-daughter and we were all neighbors for 21 years before we went full-time.
Calvin and his dad trying to beat us at Mexican Train
Even though Jerry and I did okay at the dentist
Teddy had to have his teeth cleaned and four pulled!!
Trying to sleep off the anesthetic.

Grandpa and Vincent

In our 350square foot coach there were three TV's - a little over kill ya think?
Jerry removed one of the TV's near the kitchen and we put in a coffee bar.
I was happy with how it turned out and I now have more counter space.

We also had the joy of hosting for a day a dear friend of ours from Kenya.
Leah and her pastor husband  Paul are missionaries that we have known for years.
They are wonderful people who help underprivileged families.

Vincent and two of his sisters

The waitress holding Vincent at a restaurant we went to - he is irresistible

What he will look like with a mustache

Took my mom and Calvin out for ice cream -

Our dear friends Chris & Laura Stephen's daughter Emma who is expecting a little boy in a few months.
Fun shower.  Emma is having a boy and their other daughter is expecting a little girl about six-weeks later.
Have known these two ladies since they were very small - they have grown into beautiful women and know they will both be great moms

These 3 ladies and I worked together for years - had lunch together more times than anyone could count.
Mame Sage, Carol Meisinger and Audrey Slosser.  We are all retired except for Audrey.
We had a girls trip down to Stared Rock, IL  Were gone two nights, had a wonderful time, and as always laughed a lot!

Did a little wine tasting too

Went to a movie and stopped for grasshoppers

One of my son's most recent visits!
Guess I am boring as every male in the house fell asleep - even Teddy is asleep on the floor between the two chairs.

Our grandson Calvin and his Dad - love these two.
Since we have been home we have been cleaning our our 10 x 20' storage shed.  The cost was adding up so decided we could part with about half of what we had saved when we sold the house 3 years ago.  Our old neighborhood was having there annual garage sale yesterday and today so we set up with my cousin.  We had Vincent and his two sister's today as my son and Juliette are house hunting.  We had a blast with the kids and got rid of a lot of stuff.

The house we sold is in the picture and the couple who bought it have two little girls so the four of them played all day.

Garage sales can get boring so Grandpa showing Vincent how to draw

My cousin Lauri keeping everyone cool
Another fun time was last Thursday two of my former escorts came for lunch - before I go any further let me explain the escorts.  Many years ago I owned a Travel Business where we took seniors on trips in Deluxe Motor coaches (that was before I was a senior and lived in a coach!!)  I always had a representative on each bus and Fern and Randy were two of my best.  Fern lives in Oregon so we don't get together often but she was visiting family & friends in Wisconsin so we all gathered for lunch.  Lots of reminiscing - I can't believe I didn't think to take a picture - guess we will just have to do it again :-)

So that pretty well brings you up to date.  Not as exciting in some ways as no new places that we have visited or new experiences but nothing beats being home with friends an family and loving on the little ones.

Hope that you are all well and enjoying your summer - hugs and blessings, Carol & Jerry
